Get Involved at Hancock Day School

At Hancock, families are not just part of the school—they are the heartbeat of our community. When parents, guardians, and extended family members give their time and talents, they enrich every aspect of school life. Whether you have a few minutes to spare or time to take on a leadership role, your involvement makes a difference. There are many ways to get involved and make a meaningful difference in the life of our school. Together, we build a stronger, more connected Hancock.

The Hancock Parent Association (PA)

The Parent Association (PA) plays an essential role in supporting our school’s mission, spirit, and day-to-day life. Every parent or guardian is automatically a member, and we welcome everyone to get involved in ways that feel meaningful to them.

2025-2026 PA Presidents: Anna Iyer and Brooke Powell; parentassociation@hancockdayschool.org

PA initiatives include:

  • Coordinating teacher appreciation efforts, drink carts, and meal deliveries
  • Hosting community-building events and school-wide celebrations
  • Raising funds through used uniform sales
  • Supporting classroom needs and seasonal décor
  • Organizing volunteers for lunch duty, field trips, and special events.

Parent Committees

We are grateful for the parents who lead and support our many Parent Association committees. Each one plays a role in creating the warm, welcoming Hancock culture we all enjoy.

  • Coffee Carts & Teacher Meals: Kari Reardon
  • Decorating Committee: Lily McCormick & Vanessa Deshpande

More Ways to Get Involved

Room Parents & Grade-Level Parents

Room Parents (Lower School) and Grade-Level Parents (Middle School) serve as the vital bridge between teachers and families. They help coordinate class activities and communication, including:

  • Organizing class parties and holiday celebrations
  • Coordinating drivers for field trips
  • Collecting funds for teacher gifts (birthday, holiday, end-of-year)
  • Sharing updates from the school or classroom
  • Supporting teachers in small but meaningful ways

Thank you to our Room and Grade-Level Parents for your leadership and generosity. If you notice updates to the list or want to get involved, please reach out to the PA or Cindy Drew.

Lunch Volunteers
Needed Daily!

We rely on parent volunteers to assist with daily lunch coverage, serving, and supporting the flow of lunchtime activities. It’s a simple, fun way to be part of your child’s school day and meet other Hancock parents. Whether once a week or once a month, your help is deeply appreciated.
