Hancock Day School Uniforms

School Uniforms serve as a symbol of unity for the school community and visitors. Adhering to the uniform policy, students embrace a collaborative sense of school pride and spirit. HDS students are expected to wear the appropriate uniform throughout each school day.

HDS Uniforms may be purchased at either:

  • Bahama Joe’s - 4755 Waters Avenue (Medical Arts Shopping Center)
  • Lands’ End Online (School # 9001-1901-7)

The Parents Association also assists with the sale of used uniforms. Please visit the Hancock Uniform Closet on Facebook to purchase used uniforms.

DRESS DOWN AND SPIRIT DAYS

On approved dress-down or spirit days, students may wear casual, modest attire. These guidelines may not cover every style that may appear on Dress Down Days. At HDS, we aim to teach discernment and responsibility to our students. To do so, we allow students to make choices within a framework like this, trusting they will choose wisely. However, if a style is not acceptable, the student will be asked to correct it.

  • Clothing must be neat and clean.
  • No tank tops, strapless, offensive graphics, and/or slogans. Undergarments (including camisoles) should not be seen.
  • Short/skort/skirt length must fall below the fingertips when arms are down at the sides.
  • Leggings: The top or shirt worn over leggings must reach past the fingertips when the arms are down at the sides.
  • Shoes: Students may wear sandals/boots on dress-down days only. Please ensure PE/athletic shoes are brought to school on these days, if needed.
  • Hats: May not be worn inside unless the spirit theme calls for them.
Hancock Day School reserves the right to change the dress code requirements during the academic year.
