Hancock Day School offers a comprehensive, whole-child education for students in Pre-K through 8th grade.

Our average class size is 15 students, allowing for personalized attention and strong student-teacher relationships.

Yes. We are fully accredited by SAIS and are active members of the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) and the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS).

Yes. Students wear uniforms daily to foster a cohesive, focused school culture. Regular and PE uniforms are available at Bahama Joe’s and Lands End.

Lunch is automatically added to tuition. Sage Dining Services offers healthy and delicious meals daily.

Yes! Hancock offers Extended Day (aftercare) for students until 5:30 most days and a variety of summer camp programs, including academic, athletic, and enrichment options.

We offer the Apogee Scholarship Fund, a state-registered SSO and a 501(c)(3) that facilitates the distribution of tax credits in exchange for contributions and disburses those funds as private school tuition scholarships.

Hancock is also an approved school with Georgia Promise.

Our Pre-K program is a beloved cornerstone of the Hancock experience. With dedicated early childhood educators, small class sizes, and a strong emphasis on social-emotional growth, our Pre-K lays the foundation for confident, joyful learners. Students receive daily enrichment in music, art, Spanish, PE, and library, while developing the early literacy and numeracy skills needed for Kindergarten success. It’s a whole-child approach in a warm, structured environment — and it shows!

Each year, we offer up to 45 spots in our Pre-K program, making it the most common entry point for new families. Kindergarten has only 4–6 openings, as most seats are filled for our current Pre-K students.

We always welcome families who are interested in beginning their Hancock journey in Kindergarten. While fewer openings make the process more competitive, applications are always encouraged. Many families choose to start in Pre-K to ensure early access and continuity in our mission-driven program.

While Hancock is not affiliated with any particular faith tradition, we do embrace a culture of gratitude, respect, and values-based learning. We begin assemblies with a brief nondenominational prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance, and many classrooms will offer a prayer before lunch. In Middle School, students may share prayer requests during morning meetings. We proudly welcome families of all faiths and backgrounds into our community.

We recognize that personal technology is part of modern family life. At Hancock:

• Middle School students (Grades 5–8) may bring cell phones, but they must be stored in homeroom classrooms during the academic day.
• We issue school-managed Chromebooks to all 5th–8th graders, which are protected with cybersecurity safeguards and used only for academic purposes.
• Smartwatches are not permitted unless there is a specific need recognized by school administration.
