Q. How do I apply to Hancock Day School? Top

A. The first step in applying to Hancock is to complete our admissions test.  To set up a date for your child to be tested, call Hancock Day School at (912) 351-4500.  Upon acceptance, prospective students must complete a registration form and pay a required registration fee.

A. Call the Hancock office at (912) 351-4500 to schedule a tour or to get information about open houses and other events.

Q. What are payment plans for registration and tuition fees? Top

A. Registration fees are paid in January and March

Tuition is paid in 10 monthly installments, starting in August, with the final payment due in May.   Payments are due the first of each month.   Tuition may also be paid in full at the beginning of the school year.

Q. Does Hancock offer financial aid? Top

A. Hancock does not offer financial aid or other scholarships.  The cost of each student’s education is the responsibility of his or her primary caregivers.

A. Hancock is not affiliated with any particular religious denomination; we support a Judeo/Christian philosophy.

A. Prekindergarten - 8:15a.m. - 11:45 a.m.
Kindergarten - 8:15 a.m. - 2:30 a.m.
First Grade - Seventh Grade - 8:15 a.m. – 3:00p.m.

Extended morning sessions for all students are offered from 7:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.

Extended afternoon sessions are as follows:
Prekindergarten - 11:45 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Kindergarten - SeventhGrade - 3:00 p.m. - 5:30p.m.

Q. What type of curriculum does Hancock implement? Top

A. The curriculum at Hancock Day School is a back-to-basics curriculum. Our program implements a strong phonics approach to reading and an enriched comprehension program. Creative writing skills are taught at all grade levels, and an English grammar curriculum is included in all aspects of learning.  Hancock also offers a challenging math program and hands-on science courses.

Q. Does Hancock Day School offer a foreign language? Top

A. Yes, students are taught Spanish beginning at kindergarten and continuing through the seventh grade.

Q. Do you have a dress code or uniforms? Top

A. Yes, grades K-7 wear uniforms purchased through Bahama Joe's, Lands’ End, or A-1 Uniforms. Once per month, a “dress down” date is allowed.

A. Fall -  Girls Volleyball (SPAL), Football(SPAL),Cheerleading

 Winter - Boys and Girls Basketball (SPAL), Intramural Basketball for ages 5 - 10
Spring - Girls Soccer, Boys Soccer

Q. Do you have a lunch program? Top

A. No, we do not have a daily hot lunch.  Students can order a variety of hot lunches that are available through out the school year.

Whole milk and two percent milk are available daily at modest prices.

Q.  Are students allowed to bring snacks? Top
A.  Yes. Grades K-7th are given a 15 minute fruit break each day. Students are encouraged to bring a healthy snack daily.  Acceptable snacks include fresh fruit, cheese and crackers, yogurt, pretzels, granola bars and vegetables.  Please do not sent fruit in a pop-top can, the edges are very sharp and dangerous to students.
