Hancock Day School’s private education program currently consists of prekindergarten through seventh grades. We have added an eighth grade level in 2010-11. Our curriculum emphasizes a “back to basics” approach, and challenges all students to become capable learners, critical thinkers and effective communicators, while developing strong citizenship and character. Hancock has a reputable and distinguished team of faculty and staff that has earned great recognition for their ability to stimulate young minds and help our children advance to their fullest potential. We have a student to teacher ratio of 11 to 1, all students receive individual attention. The maximum enrollment for each class is: prekindergarten 14, kindergarten - second grade 16, grades third - fifth 19 and sixth - seventh 19. The curriculum also includes a careful combination of pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, primary, intermediate and middle grades, which interrelate so that students are prepared for the next step in their education.

Accreditation
Under the direction of our principal and the support of the Board of Trustees, Hancock Day School has received dual SACS-SAIS accreditation. This accreditation assures that Hancock is prepared to provide students with the tools necessary for a productive educational journey, during elementary and middle school years. It allows us to stay up to date with information in the academic community and provides the ability to collaborate with similar private schools. By maintaining accreditation, Hancock’s faculty and staff will continue to use their skills to provide students with a thorough private education that is truly second to none.
